Therapy, and specifically psychotherapy is any psychological service provided by a trained and licensed professional (in the United States by a state board) to communicate and interact with an individual to assess, diagnose and treat emotional, mental health challenges and substance/behavioral addictions.
Professional Christian counseling is psychotherapy as described in the answer to the previous question. However, these state licensed professionals are also trained specific spiritual interventions based on the Christian faith.
We all have the power of choice, and seeking therapy is just that; a personal choice. Making a choice to seek therapy usually means you know yourself well enough to know you need a helping hand to make some type of change in your life, and that takes courage. We admire and respect that courage. So, If you are an individual struggling with such challenges as: addictions, anger, anxiety, depression, childhood issues, life transitions, relationship conflict, stress, sexual abuse/trauma then therapy can assist you in providing support, problem-solving and enhancing coping skills.
Every therapy experience is different, because as an individual you are unique. Thus, therapy is personalized to meet your specific needs and goals. Typically, therapy is scheduled on a weekly basis with sessions lasting approximately 50 minutes. However, this can vary depending on individual needs.
Research suggests that medication in conjunction with talk therapy is the best course of action for some of life's emotional and mental challenges, such as anxiety and depression. Check with your primary care physician to determine if therapy would be right for you.

Yes. We accept fee for service payment. We can provide you with a statement of payments you make with the required information insurance companies need for reimbursement. We also offer a sliding fee scale for those persons who may not have insurance; as well as, student rates.
The relationship between an individual seeking therapy and a psychotherapist is protected by law. What the individual shares during his/her session can not be disclosed without written permission from that individual. However, there are some exceptions.
